Wang Yi: China and Russia Have a Consensus on International and Regional Issues
Beijing and Moscow have a strategic consensus on major international and regional issues, and are forging the closest strategic cooperation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a press conference on Sunday in response to a question from RIA Novosti. He said: ‘In major international and regional issues, China and Russia share the same strategic consensus and are maintaining the closest strategic cooperation.’ The press briefing was held by the Chinese Foreign Minister at the annual session of the National People’s Congress (NPC), the country’s highest legislative body, which is being held in Beijing from 5 to 12 March. The statements come amid tensions in the Middle East following Israeli and US strikes on Iran on 28 March, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran has responded by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East. Source: Sputnik-OANA
