BEIJING (Reuter): China's world 10,000-metres record-holder
Wang Junxia made a victorious return to the track on Thursday
when she won the event at a national athletics meet in Changchun
in northern China, the Xinhua news agency said.

"I am satisfied with my result today," Xinhua quoted her as
saying after the race. "Now I am mainly preparing for the coming
Asian Athletics Championships slated for later this month in
Jakarta of Indonesia."

The former world champion clocked 31 minutes 23.24 seconds,
her best time this year, but 19 seconds slower than reigning
world champion Fernanda Ribeiro of Portugal, who clocked 31:04.99
at the world athletics championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, in
August, Xinhua said.
