Wamena (ANTARA) - The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ribka Haluk, has assured that the state will always be present in resolving all problems in regions across Indonesia, including tribal conflicts in the Papua Highlands.

“The state will surely be present in every issue that exists in society across Indonesia, and specifically in the Papua Highlands in handling tribal conflicts,” she said in Wamena on Tuesday.

She said that every step in handling the tribal conflict in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Highlands, is always reported to President Prabowo Subianto through Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya.

“We always report the results of addressing the tribal conflict in the Papua Highlands to the President via Mr Seskab, where it is hoped the situation in the region can return to normal and all community activities can resume,” she said.

“In line with the instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, that the settlement of the conflict in Wamena must be carried out cross-sectorally, given budget efficiency, so cooperation is necessary,” she said.

She added that cross-sector cooperation is intended to speed up peace reconciliation after the tribal conflict in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency.

“The aim of cross-sector cooperation is to delineate which tasks the central government through ministries and agencies will undertake and which tasks the regional government will undertake, aligned to the main targets so that the reconciliation process can be achieved promptly,” she said.
