JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police officially launched the latest technological innovation in the form of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) Drone Mobile during the Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) of Korlantas Polri in 2026. Deputy Chief of Police (Wakapolri) Komjen Polisi Dedi Prasetyo praised the drone’s sophistication, noting that it is not only dynamic but also capable of accurately identifying traffic violators by facial recognition. “ETLE also has two advantages—these advantages can be more dynamic in capturing all potential traffic violations on several road sections, and the ETLE Drone Mobile can also capture facial recognition, enabling integration,” Dedi said while attending Rakernis Korlantas Polri 2026, at the PTIK Complex, Jakarta, Friday (22/5/2026). He added that the facial recognition feature contained in the ETLE Drone is seen as a powerful solution to improve ticketing accuracy, while also minimising the risk of mis-targeting in digital enforcement. “Furthermore, to avoid errors in traffic enforcement, it can be verified using a facial recognition sensing system. This is an extraordinary step,” praised Dedi. The ETLE Drone adds to ETLE devices already in place such as ETLE Handheld, ETLE on Board, and ETLE Static. “Of course this is a necessity to realise traffic that will be more orderly and for road users to comply,” said Head of Korlantas (Kakorlantas) Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho in his remarks, Friday.
