Wakapolri: KBPP Not a Partner but Part of Polri

Jakarta – Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo swore in and installed AH Bimo Suryono as Chairman of the General Family of Sons and Daughters (KBPP) Polri for the 2026-2031 period. The installation ceremony was held at a hotel in South Jakarta on Thursday, 21 May 2026. After the ceremony, Bimo Suryono asserted that KBPP Polri would remain aligned with Polri as the organisation’s guardian, including supporting the government of President Prabowo Subianto.

“KBPP Polri will follow whatever Polri commands as the guardian and as a parent. We support a legitimate government,” Bimo said, quoted on Saturday, 23 May 2026.

According to him, KBPP Polri has two major names to protect: the family and Polri itself. He argued that there should be no internal conflicts that tarnish the institution’s name.

“Polri does not interfere, but Polri is indeed our guardian. This organisation was founded by Polri, and has been proposed several times by Polri leadership, that we are not merely partners but are part of Polri itself,” he added.

Bimo also asked for Polri’s support to help document the children of Polri members who have retired. He said the process of documenting families of retired members is much more difficult than for active members.

“If you record the children of active Polri members it is not too difficult. But recording the children of those who have retired, their sons and daughters, we ask for cooperation to document through the Bhabinkamtibmas distributed across Indonesia,” he said.

In addition, Bimo expressed appreciation to Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Deputy Police Chief Dedi Prasetyo for the guidance given to KBPP Polri.

“As the big family of Polri, we request to continue receiving guidance and direction. The KBPP Polri system is top-down, not bottom-up,” he said.

The installation of AH Bimo Suryono as Chairman of KBPP Polri for the 2026-2031 period was based on Decree No: Skep-02/Istimewa/Munas VI/KBPPPolri/V/2026 regarding the elected Chairman of the Central leadership of KBPP Polri for the 2026-2031 tenure.

Meanwhile, Deputy Police Chief General Dedi Prasetyo conveyed the message from Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo regarding the position of KBPP Polri as an organisation closely linked to the Polri institution.
