Waiting for potable water

Waiting for potable water

From Pikiran Rakyat

I live at Gang Bombay RT 2 RW 1 Jalan Pasar Barat, Kebon Jeruk village, Andir district in Bandung and I am a subscriber to the regional water company (PDAM).

Unfortunately, for four years now, the supply of potable water from PDAM to my area has been discontinued for no reason. People in my neighborhood have always said that everyone in this area has enjoyed potable water for a century.

Strangely, the people living not far from our area on Jl. Belakang Pasar and Dulatip continue to receive potable water from PDAM. We have complained about this to the relevant office many times but none of the PDAM officials, despite their promises, have come to our area to check out the situation.

We hope the head of the municipality of Bandung and members of the Bandung Regional Legislative Assembly can discuss this matter with the officials of PDAM to find a solution to this problem. For four years, despite the absence of potable water, most of us have continued to pay monthly fees, while making do with dirty and smelly water.
