W. Sumatra tourism to get a push

PADANG, West Sumatra: State Minister for Culture and Tourism
Jero Wacik promised to do more to promote West Sumatra as a
tourist destination.

"West Sumatra has a lot of potential as a tourist area in
Sumatra and should be promoted abroad," he said in Padang on
Sunday, while praising the region's tourist sites, cuisine and
rich culture.

Jero said he had spoken with Indonesia's ambassador to India
about working to set up direct flights from Indian cities to
Padang. -- JP
