W. Java hands out cash bonuses

BANDUNG, West Java: The West Java administration has awarded
Rp 9.4 billion in cash bonuses to the province's 1,137 sporting
contingent members at the National Games (PON) in Palembang last
month.

The bonuses were handed out symbolically from Governor Denny
Setiawan to swimmer Ira Kurniawan and fin-swimmer Hans H.
Yosaputra.

"With these bonuses, we want them to keep motivated to fight
for West Java," Denny said during the award ceremony at the City
Hall's Sate Building here on Thursday.

West Java collected 76 gold, 79 silver and 94 bronze medals to
finish in third place behind overall champions Jakarta and East
