VP to open GMNI congress

JAKARTA: Vice President Hamzah Haz is slated to open the
national congress of the 14th Indonesian Nationalist Student
Movement (GMNI) from Dec. 20 to Dec. 24 in Manado, North
Sulawesi.

GMNI congress organizing committee head Donny Luminggas told
Antara that the confirmation was indicated by the presence of the
Vice President's special force to check the location of the
congress.

Aside from Hamzah, Coordinating Minister for Political and
Security Affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Minister of Manpower
and Transmigration Jacob Nuwawea, and Minister of Social affairs
Bachtiar Chamsjah will attend the congress.

The congress has a number of items on the agenda, including
the accountability report of the GMNI officials, the election of
GMNI chairman, and discussions on the nation's problems. --
