VP Gibran Reviews Electric Vehicle Production, Supports Domestic Component Use
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reviewed the production process of electric vehicles at PT Terang Dunia Internusa (UNTD) Plant III in Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Friday. The visit was a form of support for achieving downstream industry goals and developing the national electric vehicle ecosystem. Gibran observed the manufacturing process from start to finish, including the parts warehouse, painting area, and vehicle assembly, and also viewed several electric motorcycle units ready for market. The implementation of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in the production process was a key focus of the review. PT Terang Dunia Internusa Director Henry Mulyadi stated that the Vice President appreciated the company’s commitment to increasing the use of domestic components. The company’s TKDN has exceeded 60 percent. Henry noted that the Vice President was pleased to see that many parts are now produced independently within the country. This effort is expected to strengthen the national industrial supply chain, enhance the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector, and support the development of a sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem.
