At the Vesak Day 2570 BE celebration at Borobudur Temple in Magelang on Sunday, he urged Buddhists to continue strengthening the spirit of tolerance and preserving interfaith brotherhood, which are important foundations for the nation’s stability and progress.

Gibran also expressed appreciation to Buddhists for their contributions to maintaining social harmony and supporting humanitarian activities across the country.

According to him, the involvement of Buddhists in education, healthcare, and community empowerment has provided tangible benefits for national development and harmonious social life.

He emphasized that the Vesak celebration at Borobudur is not merely a religious occasion but also reflects Indonesia’s commitment to upholding peace and respecting diversity.

Gibran said unity and peace are essential foundations Indonesia needs to sustain development amid evolving challenges.

Therefore, he called on Buddhists to play an active role in maintaining interfaith harmony and strengthening social cohesion within their communities.

He said Buddhist values such as loving-kindness, compassion, and wisdom remain highly relevant in addressing increasingly complex challenges.

Gibran also called on all segments of society to work together to leave a more harmonious, just, prosperous, and dignified Indonesia for future generations.
