Jakarta – Volvo has officially launched its latest electric sedan, the Volvo ES90, in the Indonesian market. The model marks a further step for the Swedish manufacturer in expanding its electrified vehicle line-up in the country. Koji Hori, CEO of Volvo Car Indonesia, said the arrival of the ES90 marks a new phase in Volvo’s electrification journey in Indonesia. ‘Today there will be a new model launching. This is a new phase for electrification that we want to bring to Indonesia as Volvo. Along with safety, innovation, and all that Volvo must deliver, this new model is the ES90 sedan we have in Indonesia,’ Koji said, in Central Jakarta, on Thursday 5 March 2026. In terms of design, the ES90 presents an elegant Swedish sedan aesthetic. The front is equipped with headlights with an aggressive T-Shape design, a hallmark of Volvo’s latest generation electric cars. In terms of performance, the ES90 is powered by a 92 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 700 kilometres on a single charge. That range is among the longest in Volvo’s current electric vehicle lineup. The electric sedan also supports fast charging technology. With fast charging, the ES90 is claimed to be able to add up to 300 kilometres of range in around 10 minutes of charging. Inside the cabin, a premium ambience is immediately evident thanks to a Bowers & Wilkins audio system featuring 25 speakers in total. Comfort is enhanced by the use of double-glazed windows that help mute exterior noise, making the cabin feel quieter and the journey more comfortable. In terms of safety, the ES90 is equipped with a range of advanced sensor technologies. The car features five radars, seven cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors that work together to enhance protection for the driver, passengers, and the surrounding environment.
