Volvo Asia office opened in S'pore
SINGAPORE: In response to a growing vehicle market in the Southeast Asian region, Volvo has established a new division based in Singapore, Volvo Car Asia.
Although the Swedish carmaker has had an office in Singapore for some time, it was previously under the auspices of Volvo Car International.
Volvo Car Asia is now a separate entity reporting directly to Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden with responsibility for markets in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, South Korea and the Philippines.
Total volumes for Volvo in these markets are about 20,000 cars per year.
The president of the new division is Jan-Olof Nilsson.
