Volunteer Brings Meals to Forest Firefighters

Amid thick haze caused by forest and land fires in Central Kalimantan, a 72-year-old woman continued preparing food for firefighters on Sunday (18 October).

The volunteer, Sumiyah Isdiwati, has kept cooking to help meet the food needs of crews working to extinguish the fires.

Together with other volunteers, Sumiyah packed rice and side dishes into containers before distributing them to the firefighters.

Meanwhile, haze from the fires continues to blanket several parts of Indonesia and worsen air quality, affecting public health.
