Volleyball c'ships delayed

JAKARTA (JP): Organizers decided to postpone the national
inter-club volleyball championships to allow participating clubs
better preparation.

The Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) earlier slated
the event to take place from May 21 to May 27, before delaying it
to May 28 until June 3. The event will be held at the Satria
sports hall in Semarang.

"We think it's better to postpone the event to give clubs a
greater opportunity to achieve better results," the secretary of
PBVSI's Central Java chapter, Sofyan T Dolo, was quoted as saying
by Antara news agency.

"This is important because the champions and runners-up will
be promoted to the Indonesian Volleyball League (Livoli) which is
our highest volleyball competition," he said. (nvn)
