Volkswagen introduces ID. Era 9X EREV SUV interior ahead of launch
Jakarta (ANTARA) – SAIC Volkswagen has unveiled the interior of its flagship extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) SUV for China, the ID. Era 9X, ahead of its expected official launch in March 2026.
According to reports from Carnewschina on Sunday, the ID. Era 9X interior features a design concept of “harmonious integration of square and circular forms” with a six-passenger seating arrangement and three digital display screens.
The vehicle is equipped with a 15.6-inch (39.6 cm) central control display for the driver and front passenger, as well as a foldable roof screen measuring 21.4 inches (54.3 cm) for rear passengers, complemented by a narrow instrument panel and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
This large SUV has dimensions of 5,207 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm.
In the rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant, the SUV is equipped with a 220 kW (295 hp) electric motor paired with either a 51.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery or a 65.2 kWh ternary lithium battery developed through CATL-SAIC collaboration, delivering pure electric range of up to 267 km and 340 km respectively according to CLTC standards.
The kerb weight for these two variants is approximately 2,600 kg and 2,620 kg respectively.
With the 65.2 kWh ternary battery configuration, the all-wheel drive (AWD) model offers pure electric range of up to 400 km based on the CLTC cycle, with kerb weight reaching 2,700 kg.
The ID. Era 9X is designed to directly compete with other flagship Series-9 SUVs in the Chinese market and serves as the largest model in the ID. Era line, which encompasses various battery electric vehicle (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models.
