Volcom holds teen surfing competition

Leading sportswear manufacturer Volcom will hold the
final round of its 2004-2005 Totally Crustaceous Tour
teenage surfing championship on Sunday, July 17,
at Kuta beach.

Around 60 young surfers will compete in the
championship's three divisions of under-14, under-18
and Pro-Am.

The young surfers were selected through at least 10
Volcom qualifying rounds held during the year on beaches at
Negara (Sword Fish Series), Sanur (Gecko Fish Series),
Pecatu (Grill Fish Series), Kuta (Flying Fish Series)
and Cimaja-Pelabuhan Ratu (Heli Fish Series).

Weather permitting, several Indonesian professional
surfers will show their skills in an air show contest.

In addition, a concert featuring Psychofun, The
Hydrant, Navicula and Shaggydog is planned to provide
spectators of the finals with lively entertainment.

Aimed at providing space and opportunities for young
local surfers, the Totally Crustaceous Tour was first
held in 2000. Ever since, the event has became one of
the most eagerly awaited events of the year for the Indonesian
surfing community.--JP
