Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Healthcare sector stocks traded predominantly in positive territory during the first session on Monday (7/9/2026), even as the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) ended the session down 0.12% at 6,628.19.

Based on trading data as of the close of the first session, of the 38 listed companies in the healthcare sector, 28 shares advanced, 6 were flat, and only 4 declined.

The sector’s strength was also reflected in its performance, rising 1.42%, making it one of the highest-gaining sectors in the first session. By comparison, the IHSG corrected 8.29 points, or 0.12%.

Several healthcare stocks recorded significant gains. PT Hetzer Medical Indonesia Tbk (MEDS) was the biggest gainer, soaring 34.72% to Rp97.

PT Soho Global Health Tbk (SOHO) jumped 24.90% to Rp1,505, followed by PT Haloni Jane Tbk (HALO), which rose 24.64% to Rp86.

Other large gains were recorded by PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF), which surged 21.59% to Rp535, PT UBC Medical Indonesia Tbk (LABS), up 18.79% to Rp196, and PT Cipta Sarana Medika Tbk (DKHH), which strengthened 16.18% to Rp79.

Other rising healthcare stocks included OBAT, up 12.17%; IRRA, 11.76%; SURI, 7.50%; PEHA, 8.44%; PRIM, 7.69%; PYFA, 6.52%; OMED, 6.45%; CHEK, 3.73%; RSCH, 5%; DGNS, 5.30%; and SILO, 3.74%.

Meanwhile, several healthcare stocks remained stagnant, including INAF, DVLA, MTMH, PRAY, SCPI and SIDO.

The four declining stocks were SRAJ, down 1.13%; RSGK, off 1.06%; CARE, which slumped 4.39%; and PRDA, down 0.35%.

The strengthening of healthcare stocks came amid market attention on the impact of the Mount Anak Krakatau eruption and the potential spread of volcanic ash.

This situation could serve as short-term sentiment for healthcare companies, particularly those with exposure to masks, respiratory medicines and related health products.

On the other hand, the IHSG remained in the red during the first session due to pressure from a number of large-capitalisation stocks, particularly in the financial sector. BBCA, BBRI and BMRI were the three main drags on the index in the first session.
