Members of the Satreskrim unit at Brebes Police Resort raided an LPG dilution site on Wednesday (8/4). The raid was prompted by information from the public regarding the practice of diluting gas from melon-sized cylinders into non-subsidised gas cylinders. Brebes Police Chief AKBP Lilik Ardhiansyah stated during a press conference on Friday (10/4) at the Brebes Police Resort headquarters that two individuals were secured: KH (50), a teacher and school principal, and T (46), the gas diluter. “Brebes Police Resort has dismantled the criminal act of misusing 3kg subsidised LPG into 12kg non-subsidised cylinders,” explained the Brebes Police Chief, as reported by detikJateng on Friday (10/4/2026). In his explanation, the teacher and principal KH is the owner of the goods and ordered T to carry out the dilution. This teacher used the school location to carry out his activities. “Teacher KH, as the owner of the goods, ordered suspect T to dilute the LPG. This teacher used the location for the LPG dilution activity,” he revealed. The two suspects are charged under Article 62 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph (1) letters b and c of Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection in conjunction with Article 20 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
