Vlogger Stopped by Police in Puncak, Attempted Bribe Rejected
A vlogger riding an Rx King motorcycle was stopped by police on Jalan Raya Puncak in Bogor, West Java, and asked to show the vehicle’s BPKB (ownership document). The motorcyclist also attempted to bribe the police officer but was refused.
The vlogger, with the initials FF, uploaded a video of the stop on his social media account. The video was subsequently re-uploaded by several other accounts.
In the video, a police officer is seen checking the vehicle documents and asking the motorcyclist to show the BPKB for the black Rx King. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a body camera, questioned the request. “Is the BPKB necessary?” the male rider asked in the viral video. “I thought you didn’t need the BPKB if you got a ticket,” he added.
Aiptu Dulyani, the police officer who stopped the vlogger, explained that the initial reason for the stop was suspicion that the motorcycle was using a fake licence plate. “The reason I stopped the Rx King was because the plate used was fake, it was a car plate. The plate F 47 MI, if you read it, sounds like ‘Fajmi’, which matches his name, but it’s a two-digit plate for a car, and he put it on a motorcycle. That was the first thing,” Dulyani said.
Upon inspection, the officer found the motorcyclist was not carrying his vehicle registration (STNK), driving licence (SIM), or identity card (KTP). “When I conducted the check, he didn’t have his STNK. I asked for his SIM, he didn’t have it. I asked for his KTP, he didn’t have it. So I detained the vehicle,” he added.
Dulyani stated that the vlogger claimed his documents were left at home. The officer then asked him to show the BPKB to verify the motorcycle’s authenticity. “So when he was first stopped, he didn’t have any documents. As for the BPKB, his relative brought it to the location to show it. So there was a gap between the stop and showing the BPKB. I stopped him, detained the bike, then his relative came bringing the BPKB and other items. That’s what actually happened,” Dulyani said. “It all happened on the same day, because he is also from Bogor, his house is nearby in Ciomas. After checking the authenticity of the BPKB, I allowed him to take the motorcycle but I still issued him a ticket.”
Dulyani revealed that the vlogger had attempted to settle the matter peacefully and offered money to avoid a ticket. The offer was rejected and the ticketing process continued. “In the end, he was still ticketed. While I was about to issue the ticket, he whispered to me, ‘Sir, let’s settle this peacefully,’ he said. During the ticketing process, he asked to settle peacefully three times, and I told him there was no need,” Dulyani said.
