Prabowo is invited to attend an event in Kazan, Russia, in May 2026. “President Putin conveyed an invitation for President Prabowo to attend the event in Kazan, which will be held in May,” said Sugiono, in the Setpres YouTube video on Tuesday (14/4/2026). Furthermore, Sugiono stated that Prabowo is invited by Putin to come to Russia in July 2026. “As part of strengthening relations between the two countries, which is hoped to become increasingly intensive, bringing benefits to both parties,” he added. Prabowo previously met Putin at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russia, on Monday (13/4/2026). Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel TNI Teddy Indra Wijaya said that the two countries agreed on several important points of strategic cooperation, particularly in the energy and mineral resources sectors, which are long-term priorities for both nations. In addition to the energy sector, Teddy stated that the two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to continue and expand cooperation in various other fields, which are deemed to have a direct impact on national development. “The sustainability of several cooperations in the fields of education, technology research, agriculture, and investment in various sectors, especially industrial development in Indonesia,” he said. “We know that Russia’s position is very strategic in the global world, besides being one of the UN veto-holding countries and a BRICS founder,” said Teddy.
