vivo Debuts First 'Clip-on Earbuds' with 42-Hour Battery Life

Technology brand vivo has debuted its first clip-on earbuds, named the vivo Buds Clip, alongside the release of the vivo X500 smartphone series.

As reported by Gizmochina on Tuesday, these open wearable stereo (OWS) earbuds are promised to provide up to 42 hours of usage time with the charging case.

Examining the specifications, similar to other OWS earbuds currently on the market, the vivo Buds Clip is designed so that the user’s ear canal is not completely obstructed by the buds.

The design between the right and left earbuds is symmetrical, allowing users to wear them on either ear, with the earbud automatically adjusting the stereo channel based on how they are worn.

Regarding the technology used in the device, vivo has provided a 12mm driver to deliver clear and crisp audio.

There is also an adaptive volume feature that adjusts audio levels depending on the noise level of the user’s surroundings, as well as a standard 10-band equaliser available to customise the sound mix.

For phone calls, the Buds Clip utilises two microphones and bone conduction sensors to separate the user’s voice from background noise.

The earbuds also support fast charging, providing three hours of playback after just 10 minutes of charging.

An IP55 rating certification for dust and water resistance is included, allowing the device to be used for light exercise.

Users can easily control the earbuds to pause or skip content via taps on the exterior of the case.

Three colours are offered: purple, white, and black. The vivo Buds Clip debuts at a normal price of 699 yuan (approximately Rp1.8 million), but for the initial launch, the device is offered at 5ly99 yuan (Rp1.5 million).

A wireless charging version is also available, sold at a normal price of 799 yuan (Rp2.1 million), but offered at 699 yuan during the launch period.
