Visually Impaired Therapists Provide Free Relaxation Services at Kampung Rambutan Terminal
At the Ramadan Mudik Post in Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Jakarta, visually impaired therapists are providing free relaxation services as one of the facilities for travellers heading home for Eid. “These disabled personnel were trained by the Social Services Agency and then assigned to provide massage relaxation services for the mudik participants,” said Kampung Rambutan Terminal Head Revi Zulkarnain in Jakarta on Friday (20/3). He noted that there is significant interest from travellers in receiving relaxation services from visually impaired friends, and he expressed thanks to them. The relaxation service from visually impaired individuals at Kampung Rambutan Terminal is part of a series of integrated facilities aimed at reducing traveller fatigue during the journey. The service is a collaboration involving Baznas and the DKI Jakarta Social Services Agency. The visually impaired therapists have received special training beforehand. Therapist companion Siti Rupaidah said that the massage services are provided by six therapists on a rotating basis every day. In one day, she said, the service is utilised by up to 50 people. “Sometimes until late at night, there are still people who need it,” she said. The relaxation service at Kampung Rambutan Terminal is carried out from 08:00 WIB to 21:00 WIB during the Lebaran mudik period. This service is part of the social care initiative launched by Baznas to provide comfort for passengers. The Ramadan Mudik Post at Kampung Rambutan Terminal also provides free health check services involving various agencies such as the Indonesian Red Cross, and is supported by various security elements including police, military, Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, and Scouts to ensure the smooth flow of mudik.
