Visitors make Bandung Zoo dirty
Visitors make Bandung Zoo dirty
From Pikiran Rakyat
I am a Bandung resident and am always concerned with environmental affairs. On Oct. 18, I took my family to Bandung Zoo. I saw a lot of kindergarten and elementary school pupils along with their teachers and parents.
Unfortunately, before leaving the zoo, I saw the whole area was littered with plastic bottles and food wrappers although there are garbage cans for refuse.
This is to be pitied because teachers and parents should tell their pupils/children to dispose of garbage and refuse properly. This would also help make Bandung and Bandung Zoo clean and comfortable.
In this context, I would like to call on the management of the zoo to assign cleanliness officers during days when there are a lot of visitors. These officers must give stern warnings to visitors throwing garbage and refuse on the ground.
