Visitors buy uphomes at Fair

JAKARTA (JP): Low cost homes are one of the hot offers at the recently opened Jakarta Fair -- transactions have reached Rp 30 billion in barely a week.

William Yioda, the organizer of the developers' stand at the fairgrounds in Kemayoran, said Wednesday low-cost homes took the major share of sales among the 36 stands.

Yioda, president director of PT Optima Galaria, said homes offered at the fair ranged from Rp 8.8 million to more expensive ones priced near Rp 1 billion.

"The waiting line extended outside the display area," Yioda said.

The projected number of visitors at the fair was 30,000 per day.

The fair, which opened Saturday, runs until July 13. (anr)
