Visitor Numbers at Jatiluwih Fall by 30 Per Cent
The Jatiluwih tourist attraction in Penebel district has recorded a fall of up to 30 per cent in visitor numbers over the past few days. I Ketut Purna, known as John, the site’s operations manager, said the decline began to become apparent on 11 October 2026, as queues formed at several petrol stations.
“The drop has reached 30 per cent. Signs of declining visitor numbers began to appear when queues started forming at petrol stations,” John said in an interview on Saturday (17 October 2026).
According to data from the site’s management, 1,130 visitors were recorded on 11 October. The figure fell to 695 on 12 October and dropped again to 529 on 13 October.
Visitor numbers briefly rose to 751 on 14 October, before falling to 562 on 15 October. The following day, they edged up to 730.
“These figures include both foreign and domestic visitors,” he explained.
John said most visitors to Jatiluwih travel by car. Fuel shortages and long queues at petrol stations are believed to have affected visitors’ ability to travel to the tourist area.
The management hopes the fuel supply problem will be resolved soon, allowing traffic to return to normal and tourism activity in Jatiluwih to recover.
“We hope this fuel shortage can be resolved soon, traffic can return to normal, and tourism activity can also get back to normal,” he concluded.
