Visiting the Palace, Will Bahlil Become Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy?

Bahlil Lahadalia, the current Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), is rumoured to be inaugurated as the Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy at the State Palace on Thursday (1/10/2026).

When questioned about this, Bahlil, dressed in a black suit and blue tie, declined to provide a clear answer. He simply stated, “God willing, we will carry out the mandate from the President for the country,” Bahlil explained when met at the State Palace on Thursday (1/10/2026).

According to observations by CNBC Indonesia, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir arrived together, both wearing black suits paired with light blue ties. “Later,” Sugiono remarked when asked by journalists.

Also present were the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, the Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency Yusuf Ateh, the Deputy for Supervision of Government Agencies for Economy, Infrastructure, and Regional Development Aryanto Wibowo, and the Army Chief of Staff General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak.

Maruli claimed he was merely attending a Presidential Palace invitation for the inauguration of the Chief of the National Police. Previously, the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi had confirmed the agenda for the inauguration of Suyudi as the Chief of National Police.

“That is the plan. The new Chief of National Police will be inaugurated by the President this afternoon,” he told journalists.
