Visiting SLB in Lembang, Rajiv Distributes 50 PIP Assistance Grants and Surprise Wheelchairs
Jakarta, VIVA – Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Nasdem Faction, Rajiv, visited Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) ABC YPLAB in Lembang, West Bandung Regency. During his visit, Rajiv presented gifts in the form of the distribution of 50 Indonesia Pintar Programme (PIP) grants specifically for students with special needs at the school. This initiative represents Rajiv’s commitment that access to education must be equitable without discrimination. Rajiv emphasised that the limitations faced by these special children should not hinder their fundamental rights. “Education is not just the right of a select few children, but the right of all the nation’s children. This assistance is hoped to alleviate educational needs while boosting the learning enthusiasm of children with special needs,” said Rajiv in his statement on Friday, 8 May 2026. Throughout the visit, Rajiv mingled without barriers, greeting warmly and conversing directly with the students. He expressed great joy in witnessing the cheerfulness of the children who remained enthusiastic about gaining knowledge. “To my children at SLB ABC YPLAB, it feels wonderful that we can meet directly today. Seeing you enjoy school days, learning, playing, and growing with full spirit just like other children,” he stated. Not only focusing on the children, Rajiv also gave deep appreciation to the students’ parents. According to him, the role of parents and teachers in educating children with special needs is a noble task that requires inner strength, sincerity, and extraordinary patience. “To the parents of the students, you are great parents who continue to accompany, strengthen, and fight for the future of your children with full love and sincerity. May every effort made pave the way for a better future for your beloved children,” he said, offering encouragement. The touching moment of the visit peaked when the school conveyed aspirations regarding the need for supporting facilities in the form of wheelchairs. Hearing this, Rajiv immediately responded swiftly to the school’s request. “Madam headmistress regarding the wheelchair request, not four wheelchairs, tomorrow I will provide five wheelchairs,” Rajiv said spontaneously.
