Visiting Senen settlements, Prabowo vows to build decent housing
As seen in a video uploaded to President Prabowo’s personal Instagram account (@prabowo), during the inspection, Prabowo, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, walked through the residential area located about 3 kilometers from central Jakarta.
On the occasion, Prabowo heard the aspirations of the local community and affirmed his commitment to promptly provide decent housing for residents in the area.
“Having heard the aspirations of the people there, God willing, we will quickly build decent housing for them,” the head of state said.
In the video, residents living along the railway tracks enthusiastically welcomed Prabowo, who greeted those gathered, accommodated requests for photos, and shook hands.
During the visit, Prabowo asked residents whether they would like the government to build houses for them.
“If we build houses for you, would you like that?” Prabowo asked.
The residents responded enthusiastically.
“Yes, sir, yes,” they said.
In addition, the president also asked about the residents’ daily activities, including children.
“Are you in school? Are you still in school?” Prabowo asked one of the children.
The President conducted the inspection on foot along the railway tracks, observing firsthand the residents’ living conditions.
One resident, Yana, expressed hope that social assistance programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) will continue, along with support for children through initiatives like the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
“Especially for MBG, so that schoolchildren can continue receiving this support, since most people here are from low-income families. We hope it continues. As a housewife, I just hope it helps children who are in school,” she said.
