Visiting Husband in KPK Detention on Eid, Noel's Wife Brings Ketupat and Vegetables
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Families of detainees at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention house brought typical Eid foods when visiting relatives on Saturday (21/3/2026). Notably, the types of food brought were regulated and portioned according to quotas by the detention authorities. One such account was shared by the wife of former Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer, Silvia Harefa. She stated that each family received different food quotas. Silvia said she met her husband starting at 10:00 WIB. After the visit, she took back the food portion for her husband. “No (he didn’t eat it), he was told to take it so that the family could taste the food,” Silvia said. During the meeting with Noel, Silvia was informed that former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil had not been seen in the detention since Thursday night (18/3/2026). Noel also questioned Yaqut’s whereabouts. Because, based on stories from other detainees, Yaqut also did not join the Eid al-Fitr morning prayers at the KPK mosque today. “Everyone knows about it. They are just wondering, they say there was an examination, but it’s impossible to have an examination just before the takbiran night, right. Up to today, there hasn’t been any,” Silvia revealed. However, they were reluctant to share stories when meeting their families. Among them, the child and husband of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq remained silent when asked by reporters. Likewise, the wife and child of Pati Regent Sudewo and Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara.
