Houses a Collection of Around 55,000 Books

The Jakarta Nyi Ageng Serang Library has a collection of approximately 55,000 books. In addition to reading rooms, there are study and work areas, Serambi Jakarta, Serambi Nada, a workshop room, a Gemar Baca Hall, private booths, discussion booths, multimedia booths, catalogue kiosks, lockers, Aksara Rasa, as well as circulation, information retrieval, and library guidance services.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the Jakarta Nyi Ageng Serang Library in Kuningan, South Jakarta. The facility, which had been out of use since 2020, was opened to the public with operational hours until 22.00 WIB.

"The facilities have been perfected, improved, and simplified. And later it will be opened just like the library at Taman Ismail Marzuki until 10 p.m.," Pramono said in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (7/7/2026).

Pramono said the library’s operations had been halted since 2020 due to various obstacles, including the COVID-19 pandemic. He said improvements were subsequently made so the library could operate until late evening.

"Today I have just inaugurated the Jakarta Nyi Ageng Serang Library, which had been halted, not functioning, not used since 2020 due to operational constraints and at that time COVID and so on," he stated.

Pramono hopes that residents’ interest in reading will increase with the reopening of the Nyi Ageng Serang Library. He also hopes the facility will be well utilised by residents.

"Hopefully with the facilities available, and later I will request that the books continue to be added and completed, because indeed this place is for somewhat serious books. So it is for students and also for university students," he said.
