Visit to MUI Office, KH Anwar Reminds Dudung to Guard His Words
JAKARTA - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), retired TNI General Dudung Abdurachman, visited the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) office in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2026). According to a statement from the KSP on Wednesday (6/5/2026), the visit underscores the government’s commitment to fostering strong synergy with ulema to maintain national stability and unity. In addition to absorbing aspirations, Dudung highlighted a key message from MUI General Chairman KH Anwar Iskandar regarding the importance of preserving national harmony in society. “One more thing from KH Anwar, the MUI Chairman, is the importance of togetherness, maintaining unity and integrity, guarding our words to avoid mutual hatred, belittlement, and slander, so that the unity of the Republic of Indonesia remains intact,” Dudung stated. “Yes, this silaturahmi is extraordinary in my opinion, which is why I attended as a new official in the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) representing the government,” he added. Dudung explained that the main focus of the visit was to absorb input from the ulema to relay directly to the national leadership. “I listened to the suggestions and input from the ulema. Then we will report to the President; there are many important things I received earlier,” he clarified. “Of course, these aspirations are absorbed and then conveyed; it is my duty to report to the President the matters currently felt by the public,” Dudung continued. Meanwhile, Dudung emphasised that achieving national stability is not the task of one party alone, but the responsibility of all parties. Also present were MUI Economic Sector Chairman M Azrul Tanjung, MUI Da’wah Sector Chairman KH Abdul Manan Ghani, MUI Fatwa Methodology Sector Chairman Buya Gusrizal Gazahar, MUI Foreign Relations Sector Chairman Prof Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, and MUI Sharia Economic Sector Chairman KH Sholahudin Al Aiyub.
