Visit Procedures to Monas for State Guests, Groups, and Individuals
The management of the National Monument (Monas) has introduced more comfortable and orderly visitor services. Here are the details of the visit procedures based on visitor categories, according to the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.
- SOP for General Visitors/Groups Using a Guide
Individual visitors or group leaders purchase tickets or pay group retribution fees.
A guide is ready in front of the ticket counter to welcome and direct visitors inside.
Upon reaching the museum, the guide explains a brief history of Monas and then leads a tour of the dioramas while explaining their history.
Visitors or groups are escorted to the Hall of Independence to witness the opening of the gate door, scheduled once every hour from 09:00 to 15:00 WIB.
The guide accompanies visitors who wish to go to the peak.
After the visit to the peak, the guide escorts visitors to the exit, thanking them for their visit and apologising for any shortcomings in the service.
- SOP for Receiving State/VIP Guests at the National Monument
A government agency submits a request or permit to the head of the Monas area management office.
The Monas management unit coordinates with the guest’s protocol team.
Upon arrival at the Monas gate, the state guest is received and welcomed by an official or guide.
The guest signs the guest book and exchanges souvenirs, while the official or guide explains the history of Monas.
The guest witnesses the opening of the gate door in the Hall of Independence, with an explanation provided by the guide.
The guest proceeds to the peak of the National Monument using the lift.
From the peak, the guest goes to the museum room, where the guide provides explanations, accompanied by local officials.
The guest heads to the exit, escorted by local officials or the guide, concluding with the departure of the state or VIP guest.
- SOP for Individual Visitor Services to the National Monument
Visitors arrive from the IRTI parking area.
Visitors use a tourist train to reach the Monas entrance.
Through the tunnel, visitors purchase entrance tickets at the following prices:
Adults: Rp 8,000
University students: Rp 5,000
Children/school students: Rp 3,000
Tickets to the peak:
Adults: Rp 24,000
University students: Rp 13,000
Children/school students: Rp 6,000
After obtaining tickets, an officer checks the tickets.
Visitors continuing to the peak must go through the queue line and undergo ticket inspection.
After the visit, visitors proceed to the exit through the tunnel and return to the IRTI parking area using the tourist train.
- SOP for Group Services to the National Monument
The group arrives from the IRTI parking area.
The group uses the tourist train to reach the Monas entrance.
Through the tunnel, the group leader purchases tickets at the following prices:
Adults: Rp 8,000
University students: Rp 5,000
Children/school students: Rp 3,000
Tickets to the peak:
Adults: Rp 24,000
University students: Rp 13,000
Children/school students: Rp 6,000
Groups of 30 or more receive a 25% discount.
After the group leader obtains the receipt, an officer checks the group receipt.
Groups continuing to the peak must go through the queue line and undergo receipt inspection.
After the visit, the group exits through the tunnel and returns to the IRTI parking area using the tourist train.
- SOP for Use of the National Monument Area
The government or private institution user submits a request to the Monas Area Management Unit (UPK).
The user receives a recommendation or permit from UPK Monas and the designated location.
The user processes a crowd permit at the Metro Jaya Regional Police.
Once the crowd permit is issued, the user pays the retribution fee according to Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2012 to UPK Monas, attaching the crowd permit.
The user is granted a location permit from UPK Taman Monas.
The user may carry out the activity after fulfilling all requirements and coordinating with security personnel.
