Visit PLN Booth at GIIAS 2026, Enjoy 50% Power Upgrade Promo
Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT PLN (Persero) is presenting a special power upgrade promotion for members of the public visiting the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Through this promotion, customers have the opportunity to increase their electricity capacity up to 7,700 VA at a 50 percent discount to support the need for charging electric vehicles (EV) at home. The promotion is valid until 9 August 2026.
To obtain the promotion, customers simply need to visit the PLN booth in Hall 8 during GIIAS 2026, check in via the PLN Mobile application, and then claim the available power upgrade e-voucher.
PLN’s participation in GIIAS 2026 is part of the company’s support for the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. Through strengthening charging infrastructure, integrated digital services, and collaboration with various stakeholders, PLN continues to support the acceleration of EV adoption to drive the national energy transition.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that EV sales in the first half of 2026 reached 117,000 units, growing 69.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year. “One in every four passenger cars purchased by the Indonesian public is now electrified. Five years ago, this figure was practically non-existent,” said Agus.
Agus added that 16 EV assembly companies are now supported by 332 domestic component suppliers, predominantly small and medium-sized industries. This number has grown by 127 percent since the low-carbon emission vehicle programme was launched and has absorbed around 195,000 direct workers.
“The domestic component level (TKDN) for electric vehicles in our records currently averages between 40 and 46 percent. There is even a brand that has been certified with a TKDN of up to 80 percent,” he explained.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that the growth of electric vehicles must be accompanied by the development of a more reliable ecosystem to make it easier for the public to switch to low-emission mobility.
“PLN continues to support the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem through the provision of charging infrastructure and various service conveniences for customers. Through close collaboration with the government, industry, and all stakeholders, we are optimistic that EV adoption will continue to increase, providing benefits to the community, strengthening national energy security, and accelerating the energy transition,” said Darmawan.
In addition to presenting the power upgrade promotion, PLN also continues to make things easier for customers through its Home Charging Services (HCS), which allow for the easy, practical, and comfortable installation of home charging facilities.
PLN Director of Retail and Commerce, M. Fahrur Rozy, said that as of the first half of 2026, the number of installed HCS units had reached 92,058. This achievement reflects the growing public confidence in the EV ecosystem, supported by the ease of home charging.
“Home charging is one of the representations of PLN’s commitment to making it easier for customers to adopt electric vehicles. This commitment is also a manifestation of PLN’s support for reducing carbon emissions,” he emphasised.
In addition to providing home charging convenience, PLN also continues to strengthen public charging infrastructure through collaboration with various partners in the construction of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and Public Electric Vehicle Battery Swap Stations (SPBKLU) across various regions in Indonesia.
As of the first half of 2026, the number of operational SPKLU units has reached 5,016, with 619 two-wheeler SPKLU units and 1,133 SPBKLU units.
“This infrastructure strengthening is an important foundation in creating an EV ecosystem that is increasingly reliable, easily accessible, and capable of supporting the growth of electric vehicles in Indonesia,” concluded Rozy.
