Visioner Indonesia: Transparency of LHKPN Reflects Governor ASR's Commitment to Openness
Kendari, VIVA – Visioner Indonesia has urged the public to respond to information regarding the State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN) of Southeast Sulawesi Governor Andi Sumangerukka (ASR) objectively and proportionally.
Secretary-General of Visioner Indonesia, Akril Abdillah, said the LHKPN is a transparency instrument required of every state official. Therefore, changes in the value of assets listed in the report should be understood as part of a public official’s openness to society, rather than being immediately construed as something negative.
“The LHKPN is a form of commitment to transparency. When all assets are reported openly to the KPK, it demonstrates compliance with the applicable regulations. The public certainly has the right to conduct oversight, but the assessment must also be carried out fairly and based on complete facts,” said Akril on Thursday, 16 July 2026.
According to him, the increase in asset value listed in the LHKPN can be influenced by various factors, ranging from additional assets, changes in investment value, lawful transactions, to changes in the market value of owned assets. All of these can be verified through mechanisms already established by the KPK.
He also appreciated the consistency of Governor ASR, who has demonstrated his commitment to governmental integrity, including his pledge to donate his salary and various official facilities to support education for underprivileged communities.
“That commitment shows that Pak Andi Sumangerukka’s leadership is oriented not only towards physical development, but also towards human resource development. Steps such as these deserve appreciation as a form of concern for the future of Southeast Sulawesi’s younger generation,” he said.
Akril added that ASR’s leadership has so far been regarded as focused on accelerating infrastructure development, improving public services, strengthening investment, and programmes that deliver direct benefits to the community.
“We believe the people of Southeast Sulawesi are increasingly astute in responding to various pieces of information. Therefore, we invite all parties to uphold the principle of presumption of innocence, respect the applicable legal mechanisms, and refrain from rushing to conclusions that are not yet based on the findings of the authorised institutions,” said Akril.
“Good leadership is born of transparency, real work, and the willingness to be supervised. All three have been demonstrated by Governor Andi Sumangerukka through his LHKPN reporting and his commitment to developing Southeast Sulawesi in an open manner,” he added.
