Visioner Indonesia: Transparency of LHKPN Reflects Governor ASR's Commitment to Openness

Visioner Indonesia has called on the public to respond to information regarding the State Administrators’ Wealth Report (LHKPN) of Southeast Sulawesi Governor Andi Sumangerukka (ASR) in an objective and proportional manner. Secretary General of Visioner Indonesia, Akril Abdillah, stated that the LHKPN is an instrument of transparency mandated for every state administrator. Therefore, changes in the asset values within the report should be understood as part of a public official’s openness to the people, rather than being immediately construed as something negative. “LHKPN is a manifestation of a commitment to transparency. When all assets are reported openly to the KPK, it demonstrates compliance with the applicable regulations. The public certainly has the right to oversight, but assessments must also be made fairly and based on complete facts,” Akril said on Thursday. He explained that an increase in the wealth reported in the LHKPN can be influenced by various factors, ranging from the addition of assets, changes in investment value, legitimate transactions, to fluctuations in the market value of owned assets. All of these are verifiable through the mechanisms established by the KPK. He also praised Governor ASR’s consistency in demonstrating a commitment to governmental integrity, including his statement to donate his salary and various official facilities to support education for underprivileged communities. “This commitment shows that his leadership orientation is not solely on physical development, but also on human resource development. Such steps deserve appreciation as a form of concern for the future of Southeast Sulawesi’s generation,” he added. Akril further noted that ASR’s leadership has been focused on accelerating infrastructure development, improving public services, strengthening investment, and implementing programmes that provide direct benefits to the community. “We believe the people of Southeast Sulawesi are increasingly discerning in responding to various pieces of information. Therefore, we invite all parties to uphold the presumption of innocence, respect the applicable legal mechanisms, and not rush to build conclusions that have not been based on the results of an examination by the authorised institution,” he stated. “Good leadership is born from transparency, real work, and a willingness to be supervised. These three things have been demonstrated by Governor Andi Sumangerukka through the LHKPN report and his commitment to developing Southeast Sulawesi openly,” he concluded.
