Vision pollution

Vision pollution

From Neraca

Some foreign tourists think there is vision pollution in Bali.
The natural scenery of the island is now cluttered, and this
condition has made many tourist sites less attractive to
visitors.

One of the causes of the vision pollution is the highly
disordered arrangement of buildings and billboards along the Nusa
Dua-Jimbaran bypass and in places like Sanur and Kuta.

I recently visited the island and my view was indeed hampered
by the great number of billboards. It threatens to downgrade Bali
as the prime tourist destination in Indonesia.

I appeal to the authorities to continue their efforts to
conserve Bali's natural beauty by being more careful about the
planning of building projects.
