With over 10 million cinema attendees, Jumbo has become the highest-achieving Indonesian animated film in Southeast Asia. Since its initial release in 2025, the film has now been screened in 40 countries across the globe.

Angga Dwimas Sasongko, CEO of Visinena Group, believes this achievement is not the end of the journey for the Jumbo intellectual property (IP). He intends for Jumbo to extend beyond the screen, evolving into various derivative products. He aims to use the film’s success as momentum to ensure the Jumbo IP remains sustainable.

“It is not just about enduring, but growing so that we can pass it on to the next generation,” he stated at the Discovery Ancol Hotel on Monday (21/9/2026).

He noted that, so far, film IPs in Indonesia often stop at being consumer products. There are almost no IPs in the country that have transitioned into location-based entertainment (LBE).

Consequently, Visinema is collaborating with Discovery Ancol Hotel to introduce Jumbo-themed rooms. This effort is designed to allow the Jumbo IP to be experienced directly in the real world.

“This is a first and serves as a milestone; moving forward, Jumbo will continue to be developed as an evergreen IP,” said Angga.

According to him, LBE is not an unfamiliar concept in IP development. Through such development, creators can broaden the reach of their work.

Through this collaboration, Discovery Ancol Hotel is introducing 53 Jumbo-themed rooms on the fifth floor. In addition to the themed rooms, the partnership features ‘Ruang Tamu Oma’, ‘Kamar Don’, ‘Sepeda Nurman’, and ‘Kampung Seruni’ within the hotel area. Visitors can also enjoy Jumbo-themed menus at the Bogor Cafe, Discovery Ancol Hotel.

“When we talk about LBE, Ancol must be at the top of our minds, both in terms of hospitality and experience. Hopefully, this collaboration will not be limited to hospitality but also extend to entertainment, making Ancol an LBE ecosystem with a wide variety of offerings,” he added.
