Visa offers e-card

JAKARTA (JP): Visa International, in cooperation with Bank
Universal, launched on Friday a new virtual credit card designed
especially for payments over the Internet.

Visa country manager Ellyana Fuad said the Bank Universal Visa
Virtual Card could be used at all websites accepting Visa cards.

Cardholders are issued account numbers and electronic
certificates to ensure a secure online transaction, Ellyana said
in a statement.

Bank Universal President Stephen Satyahadi was quoted in the
statement as saying that the new card, the first in Indonesia,
was equipped with a transaction code only known by its owner.
