Visa Indonesia Secures Naming Rights for MRT Blok A Station

Visa Indonesia has secured the naming rights for the MRT Blok A Station in an effort to expand access to contactless payments based on global standards across Jakarta’s public transport network. MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat stated during the launch of the Stasiun MRT Blok A Visa on Tuesday that this strategic collaboration will transform the public space at the station and strengthen the partnership between MRT Jakarta and Visa. Tuhiyat expressed hope that the collaboration will enhance MRT Jakarta’s branding, thereby increasing future ridership, particularly among international tourists. Data indicates that ridership at Blok A reaches 250,000 users per month. He noted that 20 per cent of all tourist visits, both foreign and domestic, come to Jakarta, and that foreign ambassadors have recently given tremendous appreciation for this initiative. Country Manager of Visa Indonesia, Vira Widiyasari, added that passengers at Blok A MRT Station predominantly consist of creative workers, necessitating a practical ticket payment system for ease of mobility. She described the area as a melting pot representing the dynamics of Jakarta, with many communities and creative workers, which is why Visa wants to support more efficient transportation in the city. The collaboration is expected to help realise a tourist-friendly Jakarta through public transport and a global payment system.
