Viral Video: Youth Throws Firecrackers at Minibus Driver in Tangerang, Police Investigating

A viral video showing a group of young men throwing firecrackers at a minibus driver in Tangerang has circulated across social media, prompting police investigation.

The video footage shows several youths initially holding a large number of firecrackers. In subsequent clips, these individuals are seen riding on motorcycles before throwing the firecrackers at a moving minibus.

The minibus driver appeared startled when hit with the firecrackers, which landed directly inside the vehicle on the left side of the driver’s seat. Whilst the exact location of the incident remains unconfirmed, the perpetrators are reported to have thrown the firecrackers at a minibus operating on the Ciledug-Cikokol route.

Responding to the viral incident, Tangerang City Metro Police Chief Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari stated that his department would investigate the matter. “We are currently conducting an investigation regarding the viral video in question. Our team is already on the ground,” Jauhari said when contacted on Wednesday (25 February).
