Viral Video Shows Woman Allegedly Harassed on Bogor Public Transport

A video has gone viral on social media showing a woman allegedly being sexually harassed while riding an angkot (public minivan) in Bogor, West Java. The victim stated the incident has traumatised her to the point of refusing to use public minivans again.

In the video, a man wearing a white head covering is seen sitting next to the driver. The victim alleged that the man deliberately touched her body as she reached over to pay the fare. The angkot driver appeared to support the victim and was seen warning the perpetrator.

“This might be my last time riding an angkot in Bogor, especially route 05. I am completely fed up. Because of this bastard, he poked and touched towards my chest, though his hand didn’t fully reach it,” the victim wrote on her social media account. “It happened when I was about to pay the fare and he was sitting next to the driver, touching my shoulder near my chest,” she added.

When confirmed, Central Bogor Police Chief Commissioner Waluyo stated that no official police report had been received from the victim. “It is possible the report was made to the Resort Police. The report has not been received here yet,” Waluyo said. The Head of Criminal Investigation for the Bogor City Resort Police, Commissioner Bagus Azi Lesmana, separately stated that his team would check the field to gather information regarding the incident.
