Viral Video Shows Unknown Group Carrying Sharp Weapons Roaming Homes in Sukaraja Bogor, Police Investigate
A group of unidentified individuals seen roaming while carrying sharp weapons and snooping around residents’ homes in Desa Cijujung, Sukaraja, Bogor Regency, West Java, has gone viral. Police have launched an investigation.
“We are following up on a public complaint made through an Instagram social media post regarding the activity of several unidentified individuals, believed to be four people, who were suspected of roaming the neighbourhood with the intention of committing theft,” said Sukaraja Police Chief AKP Ade Rahmat on Friday (28/8/2026).
In the circulating video, four people can be seen walking while carrying objects believed to be sharp weapons in front of residents’ homes. In the video, one of them appears to be peering through a gap in a gate.
The unidentified individuals also appear to enter yards and are suspected of looking for something. The group also roamed around several residents’ homes.
Ade said the police had visited the scene and taken statements from a number of residents. The incident, which later went viral, occurred in the early hours of Tuesday (25/8).
“After gathering statements, it was concluded that it is true that in recent days there has been suspicious activity carried out by several unidentified individuals, believed to be four people,” said Ade.
“They carried out a sweep of the surrounding area and then checked the condition of the houses they passed, both the front and back, like people intending to commit theft,” he continued.
Ade added that no residents have yet reported experiencing a theft. Nevertheless, he said his office would increase patrols and urged local residents to remain vigilant and report if the incident recurs.
“There have been no reports of theft. We have also issued an appeal for residents to be vigilant and careful, especially at night. If the incident recurs in the future, please report it immediately by contacting the Sukaraja Police number,” he explained.
