Viral Video Shows 'Silver Man' Threatening Motorist with Knife in Kuta

A video of a ‘silver man’ threatening a car driver on the street has gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Jalan Imam Bonjol and Jalan Sunset Road, Kuta, Badung, Bali.

The Head of Public Relations for the Denpasar Police, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, stated that the video of the ‘silver man’ carrying a knife on the street was recorded by local residents around 3:00 PM on Saturday (May 16th). According to him, the Kuta Police immediately launched an investigation and successfully apprehended the suspected perpetrator early this morning.

“Around 4:00 AM, the suspect was apprehended and taken to the Kuta Police Station,” said Adi on Sunday (May 17th, 2026).

Adi revealed that the ‘silver man’, named Andra Winata, is a labourer from Batujajar, Bandung, West Java. The police also seized several pieces of evidence that matched the video circulating on social media.

Some of the confiscated items include a necklace, boxer shorts, a red bucket used to store money as seen in the viral video, and packaging for mineral water containing silver paint. Based on the interrogation results, Andra admitted to threatening people with a sharp weapon while working as a ‘silver man’ at the traffic light connecting Jalan Imam Bonjol and Jalan Sunset Road.

To the police, the 26-year-old also claimed that he was ordered to do so by someone named Ujang. However, the perpetrator claims he does not know Ujang’s current whereabouts.

“According to the perpetrator, he was instructed by a person named Ujang. The knife used by the perpetrator to threaten has been returned to Ujang,” he added.
