Viral Video Shows Motorcycle Thieves Brandishing Pistol at Security Guard in Serang, Police Investigate

A viral video showing a gang of motorcycle thieves brandishing a pistol in Kramatwatu, Serang Regency, Banten, has prompted a police investigation.

The incident captured in the video took place in Kampung Tunggul Jaya, Lebakwarna Village, Kramatwatu District. It reportedly occurred on Monday (23 February 2026) at 04:24 local time.

In the footage, one of the perpetrators dismounts from a motorcycle driven by an accomplice. The suspect immediately approaches a parked motorcycle with the intention of stealing it.

However, the motorcycle’s alarm suddenly went off, alerting a security guard who then gave chase.

The suspect stumbled and was apprehended by the security guard. However, the accomplice on the getaway motorcycle approached and brandished a pistol. The suspects then managed to flee the scene.

Serang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Police Commissioner Alfano Ramadhan, stated that officers would look into the report filed by residents.

“We are currently investigating,” he said.
