Viral Video Shows Man Shouting Political Names While Being Detained at Duri Station

A video showing a shirtless man shouting while being detained at Duri Station in West Jakarta has gone viral on social media. The man is suspected to have been under the influence of drugs. In the video, the man is seen struggling as three security officers restrain him. He was carried out shirtless while shouting, ‘Please record this, I am a student, a police cadet candidate, AHY, please Mr Prabowo, Vice President. Please, please, lailahaillallah.’ Leza Arlan, Manager of Public Relations for KAI Commuter Indonesia, stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday (30/6/2026) at 07:30 WIB at Duri Station. Initially, officers became suspicious of the man, who was in the reading spot area on the upper floor of the station behaving suspiciously and not wearing a shirt. Seeing this, officers took responsive action politely and directed him to leave the station area for the comfort of all. However, the man responded by disrespecting the officers, rebelling, and resisting when he was directed to leave. To anticipate the situation, officers secured the man and attempted to question him regarding his identity, but he was unable to provide clear information and continued to speak incoherently. Leza explained that the officers initially prioritised a polite and persuasive approach, but were forced to take firm, measured action because the man was uncooperative and potentially disruptive. The man was subsequently escorted out of the station, and security patrols were tightened around the entrance to ensure he did not return. KAI Commuter apologised to Commuter Line passengers at Duri Station for the discomfort caused that morning.
