Viral Video Shows Junior High School Student in Jimbaran Kicked and Punched by Six Peers

A viral video on social media shows a junior high school student being bullied by his friends in Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung, Bali. In the footage, the victim appears to be the target of violence perpetrated by several of his peers. The victim is identified by the initials IGDA (13). Meanwhile, the six children suspected of carrying out the bullying are HA (14), IPTAP (14), KGDP (14), IGPM (13), AB (15), and IKJAP (13). IGDA was kicked until he fell, punched as if he were a punching bag, and shoved by the perpetrators. Despite this treatment, the victim did not fight back and was only seen raising both hands. The incident is known to have occurred at the Wantilan Kuari of the Jimbaran Traditional Village, on Jalan Wanagiri, Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung, on Friday (5/6/2026) at around 11.00 Wita. However, the video was only uploaded and went viral on social media on Thursday (11/6/2026). After the video went viral, the South Kuta Police, together with community leaders and the Bendesa Adat of Jimbaran, mediated between the two parties on Sunday (14/6/2026) at 18.00 Wita at the residence of Jro Bendesa Adat Jimbaran. Denpasar Police Public Relations Head, First Inspector I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, stated that the case had been resolved amicably with a written statement. “It has been resolved amicably by making a written statement. The victim’s parents consider this incident resolved and hope that such an incident will not happen again,” he said on Monday (15/6/2026). During the mediation, the victim’s parents expressed their hope that a similar incident would not occur again, especially since the victim and the suspected perpetrators still live in the same village and banjar. However, they stressed that the perpetrators’ actions could not be considered mere jokes. Meanwhile, representatives of the suspected perpetrators’ parents conveyed an apology to the victim and his family for their children’s actions. They also requested that their children apologise to the victim and reconcile.
