Viral Video Shows Jember DPRD Member Playing Games and Smoking During Stunting Discussion Meeting
A viral video on social media has captured the atmosphere of a Hearing with Opinions (RDP) session by Commission B of the Jember DPRD with the Health Department, BPJS, and heads of puskesmas across Jember Regency. The meeting drew widespread criticism following the actions of one Jember DPRD member who appeared preoccupied with his own activities.
In the video uploaded to the Instagram account @pak_jitu, the DPRD member wearing a peci and black suit was not paying attention to the proceedings. Instead, he was engrossed in playing a game on his mobile phone. Not only that, he was also seen smoking inside the room while continuing to play the game.
The member appeared relaxed while playing, as a man was presenting on stunting issues, including data evaluation, child nutrition handling, and public health services.

Who is this DPRD Member?
Upon investigation, the individual is identified as Achmad Syahri As Siddiqi, or Ra Syahri. He is known as the youngest member serving in the Jember DPRD. The 25-year-old man was inaugurated as a Jember DPRD member for the 2024-2029 period.
Achmad Syahri is the eldest son of former DPR RI member Achmad Fadil Muzakki Syah, known as Ra Fadil.
Harsh Criticism from Social Media Users
The public immediately flooded the post with scathing criticism of the DPRD member. They deemed his actions unprofessional.
“Playing games during a meeting, smoking in an air-conditioned enclosed room – impressive,” sneered one netizen.
“The meeting discussion along with stunting case examples was spot on,” quipped another.
“The title is: don’t politicise stunting figures, but people notice the attendee playing games and smoking. Is this the kind of representative for the people?” criticised another netizen.
