Viral Video Shows Foreign National Driving the Wrong Way in Sanur, Altercation with Motorcyclist

A viral video shows a foreign national driving the wrong way at the Sanur McD junction in Denpasar on Saturday (30 May 2026), with the footage spreading rapidly on social media.

Instagram accounts @sesetanpost and @balicaption posted footage showing the vehicle travelling against traffic flow. The car narrowly avoided colliding with a motorcyclist passing through the area.

The incident occurred at the Sanur McD junction, one of Denpasar’s busiest traffic points.

Fortunately, no accident or casualties resulted from the incident. However, the motorcyclist, angered by the driver’s actions, struck the car driver. Bystanders eventually intervened to separate the two.

The video quickly garnered widespread online commentary, with many expressing concern over the driver’s alleged disregard for traffic rules, which could endanger other road users.

As of this report, the Denpasar City Police have not released official statements regarding the driver’s identity or the full details of the incident.

‘We are still investigating,’ said Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, Head of the Public Relations Section (Kasi Humas) of Denpasar City Police, when contacted.

Adi urged the public to always comply with traffic signs and regulations to ensure road safety for all.
