Viral Video Shows Chinese Tourist Allegedly Harassed by Local Man in Lovina, Bali
A video of an alleged sexual assault against a Chinese foreign national in Bali has gone viral on social media. The indecent act took place in the Lovina tourist area, Kalibukbuk Village, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency.
The video was uploaded by the Instagram account @aurosa_a. In the recording, a local man is seen approaching the victim, who was filming an outfit check video in the Lovina area.
A man wearing a whistle necklace then approached. The man initially appeared friendly, shaking hands with the victim and wishing her a happy holiday.
However, the handshake went on for a long time. Aurosa then realised the man was guiding her hand towards his genitals.
“Why did you shake hands for that long? I didn’t know what you were actually trying to do. By the time I realised, it was already too late,” said Aurosa.
After the incident, Aurosa said she cried on the way back to her accommodation. The unpleasant incident also left her traumatised.
The Kalibukbuk Village Government subsequently investigated the incident and summoned the perpetrator, named Wayan Sedana, also known as Nane. The incident is known to have occurred on Saturday (8/8/2026). However, the Kalibukbuk Village Government only learned of the incident the following day, based on information from local fishermen.
“The incident happened on Saturday; coincidentally, we only found out on Sunday. We received a report from a fisherman, then on Monday we summoned him and resolved the matter,” said Kalibukbuk Village Head I Ketut Suka on Tuesday (11/8/2026).
Suka confirmed that Nane is a resident of Kalibukbuk Village. Nane is often seen active around the Lovina area.
“He is actually a Kalibukbuk resident, but he was originally from Kampung Anyar. He is often seen wandering around on the road, sometimes riding a red Scoopy,” he said.
According to information received by the village government from fishermen, Nane allegedly approached the Chinese tourist after watching dolphin-watching activities. The man then walked northwards to the area before the Starlight Hotel.
“It was said to be in the morning, according to the fishermen, after seeing the dolphin guests he walked north, before the Starlight Hotel he met the Chinese guest,” he explained.
