Viral Video Shows ART Allegedly Assaulted in Sunter Agung, North Jakarta; Police Investigate

A video allegedly showing assault against a domestic worker in the Sunter Agung area, North Jakarta, has circulated on social media. The perpetrator is believed to be her employer.

In the video viewed on Monday, 23 February 2026, the perpetrator is seen assaulting the victim by striking and kicking her. The video also shows that there is more than one perpetrator, with the victim being beaten with an object resembling a belt.

The perpetrator is seen speaking to the victim whilst assaulting her. Meanwhile, the victim appears helpless during the assault.

Confirmed by the Head of Public Relations at North Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Maryati Jonggi, the case is currently being handled by the police. Investigators are still conducting their enquiries.

“The case is being handled by the PPA and PPO investigators at North Jakarta Metro Police and is still under investigation,” she stated.

Jonggi also said that police have conducted clarifications with both the victim and the accused party.

“Both the victim and the accused have been clarified by the investigator, with further developments awaiting the results of counselling from P3A,” she concluded.
